About the job

Miller Crane Works is an NCCCO crane operator training and testing school at 304 Tunnell St in Seagoville, southeast of Dallas. Students in our approved courses and candidates taking NCCCO practical exams run our cranes every week, so the equipment has to be safe, inspected and ready every day.

We need an experienced crane mechanic to take ownership of preventive maintenance across the fleet. You'll work independently, keep every machine compliant and documented, and plan your work around the training schedule so classes and test days run without downtime.

What you'll do

  • Carry out regular preventive maintenance on all cranes and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on crane systems.
  • Perform and record inspections to OSHA and manufacturer requirements.
  • Keep logbooks, inspection records, service records and parts records up to date.
  • Flag safety issues, tag out unsafe equipment and report it promptly.
  • Order parts and coordinate outside repairs when needed.
  • Have cranes ready before each class and each test day.

What you bring

  • Proven, hands-on experience maintaining cranes, with strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical crane systems.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own maintenance schedule.
  • Careful, organized record-keeping.
  • Your own hand tools and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred: experience on mobile, tower or lattice-boom cranes, relevant certifications and welding skills.

The equipment and the conditions

Our yard runs the same crane types our courses teach: telescopic fixed and swing cab mobile cranes (used in courses like the Mobile Crane Operations Fixed/Swing Cab 40 Hours), lattice-boom crawlers (Mobile Crane Operations Lattice 40 Hours) and tower cranes (Tower Crane Operations 40 Hours).

This is yard work, not a desk job. Expect outdoor work in Texas weather, work at height, climbing, lifting and working in tight spaces.

How to apply

Use the application form below, or email your resume with a short note on your crane maintenance experience to Tiago.Camilo@millercraneworks.com. We'll reach out to set up a conversation and a visit to the yard.

Also hiring: Hydraulics Mechanic with instructor cross-training. See all openings on our careers page.
