Uptown Boulevard to the freeway, not up the hill
US-67 runs along the bottom of the escarpment. From Uptown Boulevard, north toward I-20 and then east is about 28 miles and about 40 minutes to Seagoville. The west side of Cedar Hill, up the hill toward the nature center, adds minutes before you even reach US-67. Evening traffic northbound on US-67 at 5:00 can crawl. A 4:45 departure is the safer plan for a 5:30 start. The state park is a landmark south of town, not a turn on this route.
Class ends at 9:30. US-67 south from I-20 at that hour is usually the easier of the two drives.
The course waiting at the end of US-67
It is Mobile Crane Operations, Fixed/Swing Cab, 40 hours. Warren Miller teaches the evenings. They run November 9 to November 20, 2026, weeknights, 5:30 to 9:30. Fees for the NCCCO tests are included. Call (214) 763-0513 about tuition. Do not look for a price on this page.
Five students must enroll. Otherwise the school moves you to the next evening start or refunds you in full. Bring a license, a diploma or GED, and steel-toed boots. A hard hat is available if you do not have one.
A longer west-side drive that still ends at home
Cedar Hill is a longer west-side drive than the cities along US-175. The hours are what make it workable: you are not in Seagoville during the day, and you are not staying there at night.
