The square, US-287, then the interstate north
Downtown Ennis still has its brick streets around the square, and US-287 comes in from the Waxahachie side. For the yard, get on I-45 north and stay there until the Belt Line and Malloy Bridge area, then go east into Seagoville. About 32 miles and about 40 minutes from the square. Bluebonnet season crowds the back roads in spring. It does not change this interstate route.
Leave around 4:40 so a slow patch on I-45 does not make you late for 5:30. At 9:30 you are pointed south again, toward the same exit you used on the way up.
Ten nights instead of ten days away
The course on offer is Mobile Crane Operations, Fixed/Swing Cab, 40 hours. Warren Miller teaches this run. It spans November 9 to November 20, 2026, on weeknights only, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The NCCCO test fees are included. Call (214) 763-0513 for tuition. There is no figure on the page on purpose.
Five students is the minimum for the session to be held. Below that, you move to the next evening start or you are refunded in full. Bring a driver's license, a diploma or GED, and steel-toed boots. The yard can lend you a hard hat.
South Ellis County, home after 9:30
Ennis is a haul. A daytime course would mean a long morning and a long afternoon on I-45. This one starts when the day is already over and ends in time to drive south again.
