Our most complete entry program: 84 hours of lecture, 20 hours of simulator and 37 hours in the field over three weeks, with exam preparation built in.

Three weeks from zero to NCCCO-ready. Classroom theory every morning, hands-on crane time every afternoon, and both NCCCO exams at the end.
ASME B30.5 48 HRS Premium Mobile Crane
The 40-hour course plus a condensed 8-hour simulator block, for operators who want extra practice before the practical exam.
ASME B30.5 40 HRS Mobile Crane — 40 Hr
An intensive four-day program that prepares experienced operators for the NCCCO written and practical exams for TSS and TLL.

The full-week tower crane program with extended seat time before the TWR exam.

Tower crane theory, assembly and structural safety, and practical exam preparation on our tower crane.
Rigger & signal person
For the crew on the ground. Three-day certification starting every even-week Monday, or a four-hour qualification for company crews at your site or ours.
ASME B30.9 / B30.5 28 HRS Rigger & Signal Person — Level I
Three days that cover rigging hardware, load control and hand signals, ending with the NCCCO Rigger Level I and Signalperson exams. Books, first NCCCO test fees and rigging-kit practice are included.
ASME B30.9 / B30.5 4 HRS Rigger & Signal Qualification — 4 Hr
A four-hour qualification class for company crews, covering the essentials of rigging and signaling. We deliver it on site at your yard or in person at ours, on dates that suit your crew, and invoice the company. This is a qualification, not NCCCO certification.

NCCCO practical exams
Seven practical exams given at our yard by appointment: TSS, TLL, LBT, LBC, TWR, OVR and DDO (drop-deck offload). Practice time on our cranes is $250 an hour, before you test or any time.
Questions people ask.
How long is an NCCCO certification valid?
NCCCO certifications are valid for 5 years. After that you must recertify. Miller Crane Works runs recertification written exams every Monday at our Seagoville yard.
Which crane certification do employers ask for?
Most ask for the mobile crane fixed and swing cab certification (TSS and TLL). If you are already certified, lattice and tower are one-week endorsements.
Do I need experience to enroll?
No. The 120-hour and Premium Plus mobile crane courses are built for people who have never run a crane. You need to be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license.
Can I pay with VA benefits or WIOA funds?
Yes, if you qualify. The school is approved for VA education benefits. The VA decides what each person receives. WIOA training funds are available through workforce boards in many states. See the funding page for details.
Where do I take the NCCCO exams?
At our yard in Seagoville, Texas. Written and practical exams are administered on site as part of every certification course.
