Why Rio Rancho is its own page
Rio Rancho is not a neighborhood of Albuquerque, even though the two cities share a commute. Most of the city is in Sandoval County. This address on our site was grouped with Bernalillo County because that is the page students from the west mesa were already using. If you live in Rio Rancho, this is the page to start from. The Albuquerque page covers the airport and the I-40 departure.
Local building here is a mix of houses, schools, retail pads and industrial sites along the mesa. Telescopic mobile cranes show up on that work more often than tower cranes. If your goal is a high-rise cab in a bigger city, say so when you call. The course is different.
Getting from the west mesa to the yard
Drivers usually drop down to Albuquerque and pick up I-40 east. Flying is the other practical choice: Albuquerque International Sunport is the close airport, with connections into Dallas Love Field or DFW. Once you land in Dallas, Seagoville is southeast of downtown. Directions are on the location page.
Class days are full days at the yard. You will not commute home to Rio Rancho at night. Plan the whole course as time away, then use the training schedule to see which start date fits.
NM DVR for Rio Rancho clients
Miller Crane Works is an approved vendor for the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (NM DVR). Rio Rancho residents who already work with a counselor can ask that counselor about funding crane operator training. Only eligible clients are funded, and the counselor makes that call. The paperwork steps are on the New Mexico DVR page. Our admissions line is 214-763-0513.
From Rio Rancho, the next page people open is usually Albuquerque. The full list is on the New Mexico crane training hub.
